Little League
The Los Gatos Little League will hold a free clinic and evaluations in January at Baggerly Field at Blossom Hill School for all registered players.
The clinic, to be held on Jan. 18, will focus on the fundamentals of fielding, throwing, hitting and base running in an effort to prepare players for the evaluations scheduled a week later.
The clinic for players ages 8 and up (not including major division players) will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Major division players and those trying out for the major division should attend the players' clinic slated for noon to 2 p.m.
Player evaluations are slated for Jan. 25—910:30 a.m. for 12-year-olds; 10:45 a.m.12:30 p.m. for 11-year-olds; 13 p.m. for 10-year-olds; 13 p.m. for 9-year-olds on the AA field; and 35 p.m. for 8-year-olds on the AA field. The player evaluation sessions are mandatory, and players should arrive 15 minutes early.

DiNapoli honored
Emerson DiNapoli of Los Gatos has been selected to compete for the U.S. Fencing Association's national team in the men's cadet (under 17) division. DiNapoli, a sophomore at Bellarmine, will be one of eight fencers from the United States to compete in the Cadet World Cup Fencing Tournament in Osnabruck, Germany, on Jan. 25 and 26.
Softball sign-ups
The Los Gatos Saratoga Girls Softball Association will continue sign-ups for the spring 2003 season through Jan. 15. Girls ages 714 are eligible for the recreational league. For more information or a registration packet, call the league's hotline at 408.291.2148.
