Though he's an anesthesiologist by vocation, David Weissman's real passion is the Jerusalem cricket, an enigmatic nocturnal insect that is known for lying buried in the soil. With a large home lab that houses various live specimens, Weissman is working toward publishing the definitive book on the unusual anthropod.
