Little League
The Los Gatos Little League will hold a free clinic and evaluations in January at Baggerly Field at Blossom Hill School for all registered players.
The clinic, to be held on Jan. 18, will focus on the fundamentals of fielding, throwing, hitting and base running in an effort to prepare players for the evaluations scheduled a week later.
The clinic for players ages 8 and up (not including major division players) will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Major division players and those trying out for the major division should attend the players' clinic slated for noon to 2 p.m.
Player evaluations are slated for Jan. 25—910:30 a.m. for 12-year-olds; 10:45 a.m.12:30 p.m. for 11-year-olds; 13 p.m. for 10-year-olds; 13 p.m. for 9-year-olds on the AA field; and 35 p.m. for 8-year-olds on the AA field. The player evaluation sessions are mandatory, and players should arrive 15 minutes early.

'Trotters in SJ
The Harlem Globetrotters will make their annual San Jose visit on Jan. 17, when they play a 7:30 p.m. game at the Compaq Center. The 'Trotters, recent inductees into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, will play a single game in San Jose before playing two games on Jan. 18 at the Oakland Coliseum (2 p.m. and 7 p.m.) and one on Jan. 20 at the Cow Palace (1 p.m.).

Softball sign-ups
