Theft—Jan. 15, 6:52 p.m. An Ann Arbor Drive resident said some movers stole the resident's wallet and set of keys after the movers and residents had a disagreement. Police took a report.
Restraining Order Violation—Jan. 15, 1:10 p.m. Police received a call from a woman on Winchester Boulevard who said her boyfriend was harassing her. She told police there was a restraining order on file for the man and hung up. No one answered the phone upon callback. Police contacted a nearby business, and the employees said they had not seen anything outside. A report was taken that charged the man with violating a restraining order; he was on active probation for battery, malicious mischief and intimidating witnesses and victims. He was not arrested, however, because he had left by the time police arrived.
Minor Possessing Alcohol in Public—Jan. 14, 10:16 p.m. Someone saw 15 to 20 juveniles hanging out in front of an abandoned Los Gatos Boulevard business drinking alcohol. The person called police and said the suspects possibly had keys to the building, hung out in that spot often and had cars. Police went to the building.
Signal Malfunction—Jan. 14, 9:15 p.m. Police received a call from someone who thought the new stoplight at Winchester Boulevard and Dave Avenue was staying red too long in all directions. The light was working properly, police determined.
Hang-up—Jan. 14, 8:31 p.m. Someone on S. Santa Cruz Avenue called 911 twice and hung up without saying anything. There was an attempted callback but the caller was using a pay phone. The pay phone was inside a restaurant and near its restrooms. Police found that the caller was a child playing with the phones.
Domestic Disturbance—Jan. 14, 5:34 p.m. On University Avenue, a 31-year-old kicked a 37-year-old man and threw him into a window. No medical attention was required, and the parties were separated. A report was taken.
Burglary—Jan. 14, 4:40 p.m. A car parked on Blossom Hill Road was broken into. The suspect had smashed the left passenger window and had taken the driver's purse and insulin kit. Police took a report.
Neighbor Disturbance—Jan. 13, 10:41 p.m. In a Milbrae Lane housing complex, the resident heard children either screaming or rough-housing. The noises occurred every 10 minutes and lasted for 10 minutes. Police gave the involved party advice, since the noise was caused by a 5-year-old boy having a fit because he did not want to go to bed.
