Police Report
Grand Theft—Jan. 28, 6 p.m. A Pollard Oaks Court resident reported that her jewelry had been stolen between noon and 2 p.m. that day. She suspected the contractors who had been at her house earlier to install cable television. Police took a report.

Stolen Vehicle— Jan. 28, 5:50 p.m. A silver BMW was missing from the spot on Los Gatos Boulevard where the woman had parked it. Someone had stolen the vehicle after 2:30 p.m. The woman had no suspect information for police but said her car keys had been taken from her purse before the car was stolen. Police sent out a "be on the lookout" for the vehicle; the victim then called police back and said she had found her purse but was still missing her work keys, identification badge and some other items.

Unstable Person—Jan. 28, 5:29 p.m. A woman told her roommate that she had taken poison. The man was then unable to wake her up. He told police that she was in her 50s, was possibly suffering from a mental illness and had possibly taken rat poison. The woman, who was breathing but not totally conscious, was taken to the hospital.

Warrant Served—Jan. 27, 11:51 p.m. Police conducted a traffic stop at northbound Highway 17; the car was about to get onto Highway 85. The driver had a $5,000 misdemeanor warrant from the San Jose Police Department for speeding, reckless driving, turning without using a signal, driving in other lanes and having no proof of insurance. The 26-year-old man was arrested.

Argument—Jan. 27, 6:53 p.m. On One Oak Lane, a resident had been driving onto a neighbor's property to view the neighbor's landscaping in order to make a complaint to the city. The neighbor's wife asked the driver to leave and the subject argued with her before doing so. Police gave both parties advice, and the subject agreed not to contact neighbors and instead use the "proper channels" to make complaints.

Fire—Jan. 27, 6:50 p.m. Smoke was seen from the rear of a Benedict Lane home. The resident had made a fire in a fireplace.

Grand Theft—Jan. 26, 10:29 p.m. A Carlton Avenue resident parked a van in a carport but left it unlocked. Someone broke into the van and stole $960 worth of snowboarding equipment and clothing, plus a digital camera. The theft occurred between 1 and 10 p.m. The victim had no suspect information.

Neighbor Disturbance—Jan. 26, 10:15 p.m. There was a loud party in the backyard of a house on Los Gatos Boulevard, at Simons Way. Police went to the house and issued a warning card to the resident, who agreed to keep the noise down.
