By Gloria I. Wang
In celebration of Chinese New Year, a local organization is sponsoring a dinner on Chinese astrology that will benefit a West Valley College student.

The American Association of University Women will use the proceeds of the Feb. 27 dinner as part of a scholarship for a West Valley College woman. The student must major in science or math and have plans to transfer to a four-year college or university in pursuit of a bachelor's degree.

The association invites all members of the public to the "Chinese New Year Gourmet Dinner," which features Y.C. Sun as the keynote speaker. Sun's father was a fortune-teller in Hong Kong, and Sun is an expert on the impacts and fortunes associated with the current Year of the Ram.

Tickets are available for $34 each, and the dinner is at Hong Fu Restaurant in Cupertino. A social hour begins at 6 p.m., and the dinner is at 7 p.m.

To reserve a seat, send a check for "ISPF" (Interbanch Special Projects Foundation) by Feb. 21 to Carol Howard, 13667 Saratoga Vista Ave., Saratoga, 95070.
