Golf ball controversy Concert site WVC layoffs
What started out as a hearing on safety issues related to errant golf balls quickly digressed into discussions of drainage problems, traffic and noise coming from the La Rinconada Country Club at a recent Los Gatos Planning Commission meeting.  More A decision by Los Gatos officials to permanently relocate an annual summer concert series from the town plaza to the civic center has left some people questioning the soundness of the move and whether the town allowed for due process in reaching their conclusion.  More Despite impassioned pleas from students and staff members, the West Valley­Mission Community College District Board of Trustees has decided to give layoff notices to more than 92 full-time academic staff members and six classified staff members at West Valley College.  More

Reservoir repairs Sexual misconduct Winterbrook construction
Several emergency repairs on an outlet pipe at Lehiham Dam in Lexington Reservoir in recent years have led the Santa Clara Valley Water District to gather public input on permanently remedying the problem.  More Los Gatos soccer coach Jason Hemmes has been charged with sexual battery and lewd conduct with a minor. He has posted $60,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court March 25.  More Fifteen months after receiving a building permit from the Town of Los Gatos Planning Department, one property owner has been forced to stop work on his house, and construction debris at the site has neighbors calling it a "dump."  More
