Eighth-grader
goes to state
geography bee
David Muench, an eighth-grader at Fisher Middle School, will take part in the April 4 National Geographic Bee California competition. Muench will be among the 102 students tested on geographic knowledge. The winner of the competition in Sacramento will travel to Washington, D.C. in late May to participate in the national-level bee.

clean trails
of Los Gatos
A group of Fisher Middle School students is volunteering to regularly maintain the Vasona Creek Trail from Blossom Hill Road to Vasona Dam. The next monthly cleanup day is Saturday, April 5. From 10 a.m. to noon, the volunteers will prune, rake, plant and pick up litter. Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt and bring work gloves. Refreshments will be provided. Fisher's Club Live is the sponsor of this Adopt-a-Trail program. For more information, call Vicki Hack at 408.358.3673.
Choreography
by students
at 'Next Step'
Los Gatos High School student choreography will be exhibited at a dance workshop titled "The Next Step." The workshop is on April 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium, and proceeds will benefit performing arts at the school.
The event is the culmination of a yearlong dance class led by teacher Kathleen Wehr. Students of the class learn various styles of dance and experiment with choreography. For more information, contact Wehr at 408.354.2730, ext. 305.
