Russell Jordan
Remains identified as those of Los Gatos teen
By Gloria I. Wang
Twenty-one years after having been declared missing, Russell Jordan is being formally laid to rest. Thanks to modern technology, bones found off Los Gatos Creek Trail have been identified as those of the 16-year-old. Advanced DNA tests led to the FBI's ability to make a positive identification on the remains, which were first discovered in 1995.

Jordan, a Los Gatos High School student, disappeared on May 28, 1982. In 1995, Los GatosMonte Sereno police were called to the area where the bones were found. While police believed that the remains were Jordan's, they could not prove it.

Los GatosMonte Sereno police were notified on March 24 that their assumption was correct. They have now classified the case as a homicide and ask that anyone with information contact them at 408.354.6825.
