Wilson
Elva Spotswood Wilson died from natural causes Feb. 29 at a nursing facility. She was 94 years old.
Elva was born in Crystal, N.D., on July 2, 1909. She moved to Los Gatos when she was a freshman in high school and met her future husband, Donald Wilson. After high school, Elva pursued a career in banking. She worked for First National Bank, later renamed Wells Fargo, for 41 years.
After 66 years of marriage, Don died in 1998.
Wilson is survived by several nieces and nephews. Services have been held. Any donations in her name can be sent to the Missionary Fund at Calvary Baptist Church in Los Gatos.
Warner
Robert M. Warner died at his home in the Los Gatos Meadows on March 19. He was 88 years old.
Warner was born in 1915 in Massachusetts, raised in Rhode Island and settled in Los Gatos in 1946. He worked as a mapmaker for Rand McNally and then for its closest competitor, H.M. Gousha. He retired as the vice president of H.M. Gousha in 1979. Warner was also the U.S. Weather Bureau's official record keeper for the Santa Cruz Mountain community of Chemeketa Park from 1957 to 1994 and served as an editor of the Los Gatos Meadows newsletter, the Meadowlark.
Warner was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Ethelyn, in 1972 and by his son Michael in 1996. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Helen, of Los Gatos, as well as his sister Hattie M. Stearns of Virginia, son Stephen Warner of Illinois, daughter Karlette Warner of Palo Alto, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Los Gatos Meadows on May 10 at 2 p.m.
O'Brien
Deana Suzan O'Brien died at her home in Los Gatos on March 8. She was 52 years old.
Deana was born on Dec. 14, 1951, in Mount Shasta, Calif. She was a resident of Santa Clara Valley for 43 years and the director of European global accounts for Xilinx. Deana is survived by her parents, A.J. Michael of Vallejo and Lola Michael of San Jose, sister Noreen Kirk of Germany, son Michael O'Brien of Los Gatos, daughter Shannon Ludtke of Santa Clara, the children's father, Forrest O'Brien, and one grandchild.
Services have been held. Donations may be given to the San Jose Children's Shelter at 4525 Union Ave., San Jose, 95124, where Deana was a volunteer.
