Abuse—April 2, 12:53 p.m. Officials at a school reported that a 10-year-old student had a bump on the side of his head from his father hitting him. The victim was going to his father's house that day. The school's officials told police they had had conversations with the father about him verbally abusing the child. Child Protective Services was going to interview the boy.
Civil Case—April 2, 12:05 p.m. A Wedgewood Avenue resident was concerned about golf balls from the La Rinconada golf course landing on his house. A police officer met with the resident.
Stolen Vehicle—April 2, 11:54 a.m. A man believed that he had parked his car in a N. Santa Cruz Avenue parking lot, but the car was missing. The man called police while he was en route from San Jose to the Los GatosMonte Sereno Police Department. Police found the car parked behind a building. No report was filed.
Malicious Mischief—April 1, 5:04 p.m. At a track meet at a high school, someone tossed everything out of a backpack belonging to one of the participants. In the process, a camera that had been inside the backpack was broken. There was no suspect information.
Recovered Vehicle—April 1, 3:42 p.m. In a Dardanelli Lane parking stall, a car had been parked in a space for four weeks. Police ran the license plate number through their system; the description off the plate did not match the description of the vehicle. The car was towed and police discovered that it had been reported stolen out of San Jose in February.
Methamphetamine Possession—March 31, 3:11 a.m. A suspicious vehicle was on Lyndon Avenue at E. Main Street. The 28-year-old woman inside the car was arrested for having drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of drugs and having an improper display of vehicle registration. Later police added the charges of possession of methamphetamine and hypodermic needles.
Identity Theft—March 31, 9:33 a.m. Checks were printed up using a Mariposa Court resident's name and account number, without the resident's permission. The checks were cashed at a bank between March 7 and March 15. Police took a report.
Malicious Mischief—March 30, 10:04 a.m. A rock was thrown at the back of a car on Barry Lane sometime during the night, denting the tailgate. The victim asked for extra patrol checks on weekend evenings because a neighbor across the street had frequent parties. Police took a report.
Disturbance—March 30, 3:13 a.m. An Avery Lane resident did "frequent partying," irritating neighbors. Some of the guests were milling around the nearby alleyway and refused to keep the noise level down, even after a resident requested it. Police advised the host to keep the noise down.
