Last S.O.S. forum for district is on Friday morning

The Los Gatos Union School District and Los Gatos Education Foundation will hold the last of their budget and fundraising information meetings on Friday, April 25, at 8:45 a.m. The meeting, at Lexington School, will include a budget presentation by Superintendent Mary Ann Park.

Park will discuss the current and potential state budget cuts, the impacts on each student and what the district has done and will do to balance the budget for the current and upcoming school year. Following Park, a member of the foundation will talk about the S.O.S.—Save Our Schools—campaign, which is an effort to raise $1 million by May 23.

The primary S.O.S. strategy is to ask for $600 donations from the families of children in the district. The money will pay for programs and staff in science, math, the visual and performing arts, the library, and reading and writing. For more information, call 408.335.2229.
