Detours slated
in downtown
next week
Parts of Santa Cruz Avenue will be blocked off April 28 and 29 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to street construction at the intersection of Grays Lane and N. Santa Cruz Avenue. Drivers heading south on Santa Cruz will be rerouted to University Avenue at Royce Street and northbound drivers will be rerouted at Elm Street. Those heading eastbound on Bean Avenue will have to turn right on Santa Cruz. The construction work is part of the Downtown Streetscape Project. Other projects planned for the summer include the completion of Villa Hermosa-style sidewalks and an upgrade to the storm and electrical systems.
