Los Gatos students win award for high-tech design

Through the Tech Challenge 2003, the Tech Museum of Innovation charged local students with designing a device that would climb above the tree line of the Amazon rainforest to obtain leaf specimens that would help scientists study the effects of global warming and deforestation. Parking zones Russell Jordan Garage Sale
Construction work along Santa Cruz Avenue that called for a partial closure of the street has left downtown merchants embittered and pleading with town officials to postpone implementing a new parking system until all street work is complete.  More Sean Viehweg, a friend and classmate of former Los Gatos High School student Russell Jordan, was arrested last week and named as the suspect in Jordan's 1982 murder.  More From antique furniture and tools to an overhead projector and Barbie dolls, bargain hunters will find just about anything and everything at the sixth annual Los Gatos­Monte Sereno community garage sale.  More

School district layoffs S.O.S. Carnegie Hall
On May 15 the Los Gatos­Saratoga Union High School District will have sent final layoff notices to teachers and administrators, eliminating almost 13 positions for the next school year.  More Time is running out for the Los Gatos Education Foundation's Save Our Schools campaign, which faces a May 23 deadline to raise $1 million for the Los Gatos Union School District.  More As part of the New York Wind Band Festival, the Leigh High School Wind Ensemble played a venue that was a dream come true for all the band's members—Carnegie Hall.  More
