Kiwanis honors
students who
'turned around'
Ten students from Los Gatos and Saratoga high schools and the NOVA program will be honored at the Kiwanis Club's annual Turnaround Scholarship presentation event on May 22.
The students will share their stories, and one of last year's scholarship recipients will speak at the luncheon, which starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Los Gatos Lodge. The cost is $20. To RSVP, call 408.354.2730, ext. 212.
The last Tuesday
to eat and raise
funds for schools
The last Foundation Tuesday is May 27 at Round Table Pizza on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. The restaurant will donate a portion of its proceeds from dine-in, delivery and takeout orders to the Los Gatos Education Foundation, which funds programs and staff for the Los Gatos Union School District. Residents earn
scholarships
from B of A
Three local residents are among the area high school seniors who recently received Bank of America Achievement Awards. The locals are Anoush Cyrus and Jason McDowell-Green of Los Gatos and Dana Nguyen of Monte Sereno. Cyrus, a Westmont High School student, was awarded $2,000—a first-place honor—in the field of liberal arts. Also at Westmont High, Nguyen was awarded second place for her accomplishments in science and math and took home a $1,500 scholarship. Los Gatos High School's McDowell-Green was a finalist in the area of fine arts and won a $500 scholarship.
