'Tip-A-Cop' for Special Olympics

Officers from the Los Gatos­Monte Sereno Police Department will be serving food alongside the regular waiters at the Los Gatos Brewing Company in a special "Tip-A-Cop" dinner to raise money for the Northern California Special Olympics. During the meal, restaurant patrons can leave a special tip to go toward the Special Olympics. The event will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on June 4. The Los Gatos Brewing Company is located at 130 N. Santa Cruz Ave. Call the restaurant at 408.395.9929 to make reservations.


Senior center, EOC collect used laptops

The Los Gatos Senior Center and Los Gatos­Monte Sereno Emergency Operations Center are collecting used laptop computers to redistribute to senior citizens.

Donors should drop off their laptops between 9 a.m. and noon Mondays at the senior center, 208 E. Main St. For more information, call 408.354.1514.


Coffee shop owner gets recognition

Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company owner Teri Hope was presented with a commendation by the Los Gatos Town Council for her work in the community and the 20-plus years that her business has operated. Mayor Sandy Decker, who presented the commendation, described Hope as "a woman who gives more than a great deal." Hope chairs the arts commission and has been involved with the Los Gatos Downtown Association, the Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce, the Teen and Family Counseling Center and the Los Gatos Museum Association.
