Scrap your plans for movies and mini golf—instead, check out the biggest roll of toilet paper you've ever seen. That's right, on May 22 SCOTT® Tissue and Towels will be throwing a bash at Lunardi's Supermarket on Blossom Hill Road, featuring a gigantic toilet paper roll, mini-putt golf and free samples.
The visit to Los Gatos is part of a nationwide "Chief Common Sense Officer" contest tour. The idea is to find a role model that can commit to one year of championing the "common sense cause." The lucky winner not only gets to make appearances, conduct interviews and write columns for SCOTT but will also bag $25,000 and a Ford Windstar minivan. Check out http://www.scottcommonsense.com for more information.
If those arms need more of a workout than mini-golfing offers, take a swing outside at the "Rock & Rally" tennis festival at Blossom Hill Park on May 31. From 1 to 5 p.m., children and adults are invited to enjoy tennis, music, games, barbecue and prize giveaways. The South Bay Community Tennis Association and Los Gatos High School tennis coach Todd Dissly teamed up to create the festival, which they hope will generate interest in tennis opportunities in Los Gatos.
In addition to the festivities, kids between the ages of 6 and 12 will have a chance to play Ralleyball, a new form of tennis that rotates six players rallying for points each time the ball goes over the net. Free tennis clinics will also be offered for kids and adults. Topping off the day will be a Ralleyball tournament for kids and a traditional tennis match for adults.
