Missing Juvenile—June 17, 11:43 p.m. A man and his 14-year-old daughter walked around downtown Los Gatos to find her friend who had taken his watch. At one point, she walked away from him and he could not find her. The girl was not answering her cell phone. The man went back to his Edelen Avenue home and called police, but then he received a phone call from his daughter, saying she was on her way home.
Domestic Disturbance—June 17, 7:28 p.m. An 11-year-old called police, saying his parents were yelling at and hitting each other. The child said his parents were upstairs and his dad had just downed a shot of vodka. Police went to the house and confronted the parents, who said the family argument was verbal and not physical.
Family Disturbance—June 17, 5:02 p.m. Two siblings—a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl—were in a physical altercation. Their mother called police but said there were no weapons involved and no medical attention was needed. Two other children were in the house. No action was taken because the family was already in counseling because of abuse issues.
Welfare Check—June 17, 11:18 a.m. Police received a call from a man in Milpitas who said his ex-wife did not call their daughter in sick to school. He wanted police to check on the welfare of the girl but did not have the phone number to their Oak Rim Way home. Police found that the girl was fine but her mother didn't phone her in sick as a "payback" to her ex-husband.
Resisting Arrest—June 17, 10:40 a.m. On Chester Street, two drivers driving separate cars parked and went into a house. Someone called police, saying the house was vacant but the resident had returned, possibly to engage in an illegal activity. Police pursued two people on foot; they cornered a man on Towne Terrace, and they caught the woman on Chester, but she needed help getting out of the bushes where she was hiding. The man, 24 years old, was arrested for resisting arrest. At the same time, witnesses saw a truck pull out of the Chester house and drive to a residence on Woodland Avenue. Police went to Woodland, but the person there said he had been home all day.
Under the Influence of Drugs—June 17, 9:30 a.m. In the garage of an Elm Park home, a 27-year-old was being physically violent. He was arrested for being under the influence of drugs.
Vehicle Accident—June 17, 8:20 a.m. A nurse driving a car hit another vehicle in a Wood Road parking lot. She did not know who the car belonged to and needed a tow truck to pull it off the curb. She left a note for the driver, but the victim was located and they exchanged information.
