Teens spend summer studying Shakespeare

Practicing Shakespearean dialogue may not be most teens' idea of a fun way to spend the summer, but for six local youths, the summer conservatory of the Festival Theatre Ensemble is a dream come true, giving them the opportunity to practice everything from Morris scarf dancing to swashbuckling.  More

Hall of fame Parcel tax Controversy over reservoir
It was a long time coming, but Los Gatos High School is finally getting a sports hall of fame to commemorate those extraordinary athletes who made their mark on the playing fields and courts of the high school.  More As a response to the threat of state budget cuts, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District is planning to put a parcel tax measure on the March 2004 ballot that would bring in $1.8 annually.  More At a tension-filled meeting June 25 planning commissioners made a surprise motion to deny the San Jose Water Company's application to remove a non-operating reservoir and subdivide the land.  More

Affordable senior housing Town Follies New Millennium Foundation
Plans to bring a five-unit affordable senior housing complex to town are moving forward, as one housing organization hopes that escrow on a Los Gatos home will close soon.  More Town notables, in costume and ready to entertain, will take the stage July 3 for the "Town Follies." Proceeds will benefit the Los Gatos High School theater.  More Although the New Millennium Foundation is only 2 years old, it's already made a big difference at Los Gatos High School, funding improvements to technological equipment, athletics facilities and voice mail, among other projects.  More
