gives scholarships
to local graduates
The Community Hospital of Los Gatos Auxiliary has awarded $2,000 scholarships to Carolyn Penner and Felix Li of Los Gatos High School. Students who had a "satisfactory" high school grade point average, were accepted by a four-year college and have a goal of entering the field of medicine qualified for the scholarship.

on dean's list
Los Gatos High School graduate Jamie Smith has been named to the 2003 spring semester dean's list at the University of Portland. Smith is a freshman biology major.
School honors
Kroesche,
Burlinson
Los Gatos High School honored two of its teachers recently at an end-of-the-year event. Kurt Kroesche, an English instructor, was named educator of the year. Voted to receive the honor by staff, students and parents, Kroesche was given $2,500 to use on anything relating to his profession. The teacher of the year title was given to Kim Burlinson, who teaches science.

resident earns
degree from CSU
Lisa Cristol, a 1999 graduate of Los Gatos High School, recently graduated from California State University Northridge. Cristol earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and plans to earn a graduate degree in physical therapy. While in college, Cristol played water polo, was a member of the swim team and was on the athletics honor roll. Her parents are Monte Sereno residents.
