Panighetti
John "Jack" W. Panighetti died at his home in Los Gatos on June 21. He was 74.
Panighetti was born on Oct. 28, 1928, in Los Gatos. He spent his career as a postmaster in Los Gatos, serving as a past president of the California State Postmasters, and was a member of the National Association of Postmasters and the Central Coast Counties Group Postmasters.
Panighetti was very active in the community, participating in the Italian Catholic Federation branch 184 of St. Mary's Church, the Los Gatos Rotary Club and the Rotary Boy Scout Committee. He was also involved with the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce, Tahoe City Rotary, Saratoga Men's Club, Los Gatos Youth Park, and Senior Girl Scout Troop 818.
A visitation will be held on June 25 from noon to 9 p.m. at Darling & Fischer Chapel of the Hills, located at 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on June 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, located at 226 Bean Ave., Los Gatos. Memorial donations may be made to the Los Gatos Alumni Association, 20 High School Court, Los Gatos, 95030.
