Attempted Suicide—June 25, 10:53 p.m. On Bruce Court, a 14-year-old boy was chatting with people on an online bulletin board. The boy saw a suicide note posted by an unknown subject. He did not know the person's name, email address or address, but he was good with computers and found the email address. He sent the subject an email to contact police.
Minor in Possession of Alcohol—June 25, 10:32 p.m. Police stopped a 17-year-old on Quito Road for failing to yield while driving. The driver was cited and then released for possessing alcohol; his parents and the parents of the other three minors in the car came to pick them up.
Noisy Animal—June 25, 9:27 p.m. A dog was barking on Adonis Way, which was a recurring problem for neighbors. The dog's owners were on vacation, and their adult daughters were taking care of the animal. The neighbors did not take formal action against the dog's owners but left them a note.
Child Abuse—June 25, 6:36 p.m. At a Union Avenue store, a 4-year-old boy was wandering around alone, and no parents or guardian were observed. Police recalled giving him a ride home a day earlier to his Pinehurst Avenue house. His father said he liked to go shopping alone, even though the two of them had had a conversation about it previously and the boy had agreed not to let it happen again.
Vehicle Accident—June 25, 4:45 p.m. On Blossom Hill Road, a bicyclist collided with a car. The cyclist, a 16-year-old male, was conscious and alert, suffering a cut to the leg.
Theft—June 25, 3:54 p.m. A 72-year-old woman was in a Los Gatos Boulevard store. She placed some items in an ice chest and left without paying. She was taken into custody, cited and then released.
Citizen Assistance—June 25, 5:25 a.m. An elderly man called police, saying he was lost. According to the police dispatcher, the computer showed that he was at his Solita Court house. The man's neighbor showed up at the house, saying the man had called him also and said he was lost. The neighbor agreed to stay with him until police arrived. Police did not file a report; the man was in an early stage of Alzheimer's disease and was home with his wife.
Unstable Person—June 24, 10:05 p.m. A 38-year-old man on hold for depression and attempting to escape a Los GatosAlmaden Road facility did so. No one saw him leave, but staff heard the alarm on the door go off. He had left on foot and had been gone 10 minutes when police were called. Police found the subject on National Avenue and took him back to the facility.
Welfare Check—June 24, 11:25 a.m. A young child was wandering by himself at a Union Avenue store. He was found by the store's employees, who called the police. The child gave police his name and said he lived on Pinehurst Avenue. Officers took the boy home.
