Town fills eight commission seats; seven more to go

The Los Gatos Town Council has appointed Marianne Hamilton, Valerie Hopkins, Nicki Huber and Jules MacLean to the town arts commission. Sol Carson was reappointed to the art selection panel, just as Kathy Cusick and Karl Pearson will serve another term on the library board. Betty Jones was selected for the council on aging.

LG Community recognized for general excellence

Community Hospital of Los Gatos recently earned three distinctions, including the 2003 Circle of Excellence from Tenet Healthcare Corporation, which owns and operates acute care hospitals. Selection for the award is based on outstanding performance in patient care and customer service, improvement in clinical processes and dedication to ethics, and compliance of regulations.

The hospital's Women's Cancer Center received the American Society of Clinical Oncology's award for participating in clinical trials. The American Stroke Association also recognized the hospital for implementing the "Get with the Guidelines—Stroke" program.


Blood drive at St. Mary's on July 8
