Fabulous Follies
At the first Los Gatos Town Follies on July 3, Los GatosMonte Sereno Police Chief Scott Seaman issued a citation to Los Gatos High School accompanist Don Weller for an act he deemed less than entertaining. Seaman made multiple cameos throughout the evening, handcuffing emcee and Los Gatos Councilman Mike Wasserman. Local officials, teachers and students—as well as the staff of the Los Gatos Weekly-Times—performed in the follies, showing off their musical, acting and lip-syncing skills. Acts included a skit and dance with choreographer K.T. Peterson, Los GatosSaratoga Union High School District Superintendent Cindy Ranii and Los Gatos High Principal Trudy McCulloch; a section of 'The Tragedy of King Richard III' from the Festival Theatre Ensemble; the ironic 'Bitchin' Hair' from Los Gatos High Assistant Principal Doug Ramezane and New Millennium Foundation board member Barry Bakken; and a Bob Fosse-esque dance performed by Mayor Sandy Decker, Joanne Talesfore, Anita Kropp, Andrea Schneider, Diana Pleasant and choreographer Gino Torres. Proceeds from the evening went to the high school's Theater Improvement Project, which needs to raise $600,000 by the end of December.
