Whee, and it's free!

Nearly 400 adults and children attended the free law enforcement and firefighter barbecue held by Alan and Bonnie Aerts at their Monte Sereno home on July 12. The Aerts' hosted the event to honor men and women serving the public, offering up a catered lunch and a handful of activities, including movies, arcade games, swimming, and a petting zoo. Firefighter Anthony Madieros attended with his 4-year-old daughter, Cami, making good use of the massive inflatable slide. The event was such a success, the Aerts' plan to make the barbecue an annual event.
