Wildcat Invitational Golf Tournament
By Dick Sparrer
The Wildcats are taking a road trip come August. But it's not the Los Gatos Wildcats, it's the annual Wildcat Invitational Golf Tournament.

Los Gatos High School supporters are encouraged to participate in the 14th annual tourney, to be played on Aug. 8 at the Pajaro Valley Golf Club in Watsonville. Registration begins at 11 a.m. that day with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The tournament, sponsored by the Los Gatos Athletic Association, is a four-person scramble format and there will be awards for low gross finishers. There will also be tee prizes, closest to the pin and long drive contests, a no-host lunch and a barbecue chicken dinner.

The $150 green fees includes a cart, green fees, tee prizes and the dinner. The cost for the dinner only is $20. Tee sponsorships are also available—$250 for the entire tee box or $125 for one side of the box. All proceeds from the event benefit Los Gatos High School.

The tournament sells out quickly so golfers are encouraged to sign-up early. For more information, call Bruce Springbett or Joe Zanardi at 408.395.2002 or Bob Allen at 408.626.9476. Checks should be made payable to the Los Gatos Athletic Association and mailed to P.O. Box 1334, Los Gatos 95031.
