Music in the Park closes, but
Jazz on the Plazz continues
After nine sizzling shows, Music in the Park is winding down with two more artists to close out the summer.

On Aug. 17, catch the rockin' rock band Sage, performing on the Civic Center lawn from 5 to 7 p.m. The final show, on Aug. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m., promises to blow out the series with a spicy bang, featuring mariachi dance music by Mariachi Tapatio.

As one festival comes to a close, another is newly kicking. The thriving Jazz on the Plazz series continues with Giacomo Gates on Aug. 13 and Danny Hull on Aug. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Los Gatos Town Plaza.

Hull started out in San Jose in the early '70s, playing sax and blues harp, and over the years has worked with biggies including Eddie Money, The Doobie Brothers and David Messina. After nearly a decade, Hull is back in San Jose and ready to jam for eager Bay Area crowds.
