Town reclaims Bocce Ball tournament title

After tasting defeat the past two years, the town of Los Gatos celebrated its third win ever in the annual Bocce Ball tournament of the Santa Clara County Cities Association this summer.

Town Manager Deborah Figone, Planning Commissioner Phil Micciche and Councilmen Joe Pirzynski and Steve Glickman represented the town in this year's tournament. "We blew them all out. We thought we were good in the past, but this year was Los Gatos' finest," Pirzynski said.

Mountain View Mayor Mike Kasperzak turned over the trophy that his team had won last year to the town at the Aug. 4 council meeting.


Chamber throws Aug. 20 mixer for professionals

Businesspeople and professionals can melt their stress away after a hard day's work by attending the Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce mixer. The Cedar Creek Alzheimer's Care Center at 15245 National Ave. will host the next mixer on Aug. 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Seniors invited to Aug. 21 summer dance

Seniors will relive their youths and bop to live tunes when the Nob Hill Sounds return for another performance at the Los Gatos Neighborhood Center on Aug. 21. Sponsored by the town's senior center and Lions Club, the night of fun, friends and light refreshments will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free.
