Town approves use permits for businesses

The Los Gatos Town Council recently approved The French Cellar's request to allow wine tasting at the back of its store on Main Street. The wine will be limited to one ounce and is meant for people who wish to sample the alcohol before making a purchase.

The council also approved changes to the use permit for Hotel Los Gatos, Kuleto's Los Gatos restaurant and Preston Wynne Spa at 210 E. Main St.

Center offers flu shots to senior citizens

The Los Gatos Senior Center and county health department encourage residents to prepare for the cold season, offering flu shots at the center on Oct. 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $8. Preference will be given to seniors ages 62 and above. The center is located at 208 E. Main St. For information, call 408.354.1514.

Neighborhood center collects donation items

The senior center and neighborhood center in Los Gatos want residents to donate slightly used items during Second Chance Week, Oct. 20­24, between 9 a.m. and noon. Throughout that week, individuals can drop off slightly used adult and children's sweaters, jackets, coats, wool scarves and men's jeans and sweatpants. Other needed items are twinbed-size blankets, sheets, towels and new toiletries. Only the items listed, in good condition and clean, will be accepted. The items will go to St. Luke's Church, Emergency Housing Consortium and InnVision. For information, call 408.399.5796.
