The Los Gatos Rowing Club finished third among 94 clubs at the U.S. Rowing Masters National Championships at the Cal State Sacramento Aquatics Center on Lake Natoma. Wieslaw W. Kujda, former Olympian and Stanford University coach, is the head coach of the master's team that finished third behind the San Diego Rowing Club and Saugatuck Rowing Club of Connecticut. Los Gatos won 10 gold medals, five silver and four bronze. Among the team members were Terry Duryea, Jak Van Nada, Doug Martin, David Leverenz, Pete Taylor, Eric Madera and coxswain Cathy Wooten. 'This is the strongest finish we've had at the masters' nationals,' said Shirley Reekie, president of the Los Gatos Rowing Club. 'We're extremely pleased with the club's performance at the event, and happy that so many of our members contributed to our success.'
