Sullivan throws four TDs passes as Cats cruise to win over Gunn
By Nick Tuttle
In a game played last Thursday afternoon, the Los Gatos frosh-soph football team again showed its prowess by defeating the Gunn Titans 56-6.

The game plan included getting several new players into the action and they responded. The game was highlighted by touchdowns by Robby Perry, Marty Mullins and Danny Frey.

"Our execution is improving each week," said coach Dale Gustafson. "The biggest improvement this week was the play of our offensive line. We had huge holes to run through and Danny [Sullivan] had a lot of time to throw."

Sullivan responded with a 6 for 8 passing performance for 87 yards and four touchdowns. The offensive line consists of Eric Kelly, Vikram Shivaji, Matt Nelson, Brett Havens and Michael Tona.

"Another positive aspect was our ability to get our fullback [Perry] into the game plan," added the coach. "He accepted the challenge and did a great job."

Perry rushed for 72 yards on six carries, including the opening touchdown in which he carried on runs of nine and 35 yards running over opponents on his way to the first score.

Michael Gault scored on the next two possessions, one on a 22-yard run and later on a 24-yard pass from Sullivan. The first quarter ended with Los Gatos ahead 21-0. Sullivan then went to the air in the second quarter with touchdown strikes to Marty Mullins for 19 yards and Carlos Alonzo for five--a play set up with an electrifying 70-yard run from scrimmage by Gault, who was pushed out by a Titan defender at the 9-yard line. Gault then took a Sullivan pass for 31 yards with 36 seconds to go in the half.

In the second half the defense scored on an interception and run by Will Kapp on the Titans' opening drive. Later in the quarter, Frey scored on a 1-yard run following strong work by A.J. Comeau and Perry, who carried the load on a seven-play drive to set up the score.
