earn National
Merit honors
Thirty-two students from the Los Gatos High School class of 2004 earned high honors in this year's National Merit Scholarship competition.
Aaron Blumenthal, Kevin Cho, Greg Geldman, Zaynah Hindi, Jennifer Lee, Chris Parides, George Saffouri, Andrew Scher, Yongwoo David Seo, Brandon Silberstein and Bo Zheng were designated National Merit semifinalists.
Hillary Lewis, a semifinalist in the achievement scholarship competition, is one of a nationwide group of 1,600 outstanding African Americans who received the highest scores on the PSAT test.
The National Merit Scholarship Program recognized 21 Los Gatos High School seniors who placed among the top 5 percent of last year's PSAT examinees: Briana Ady, Aarash Bordbar, Michael Cartmill, Megan Christofferson, Katherine Clark, Katherine Dalgleish, Alexandra Emmons, Diana Genetti, Jessica Hensley, Matt Herrick, Andy Hight, Kelsey Hunter, Matt Martini, Robert Morris, Casey Pfeifer, Jonathan Raz, Molly Roberts, Lauren Skilken, Ina Soh, Saoirse Stacke, and Sarah Yuki.

class hosts
live auction
The senior class of Los Gatos High School will host a live auction, including a sports auction with memorabilia from Barry Bonds, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Willie Mays and Pete Rose. Bidding starts at 7 p.m. on Nov. 5 in Prentiss Brown Auditorium. The cost is $15 at the door, and proceeds will benefit the senior class and related activities.
