Listen up Los Gatos book lovers—there are only a few days left until the Oct. 31 deadline to cast your vote at the Saratoga Public Library for the 2004 Silicon Valley Reads program. Councilwoman Diane McNutt is coordinating the event, which encourages the community to read and discuss the same book during the month of February.
This is the second year of the program, with three choices in the running—Daughter of Fortune by Bay Area author Isabel Allende, Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 and the Life of Pi by Yann Martel. For more information, visit www.siliconvalley

If you haven't purchased tickets for the Museums of Los Gatos well-regarded Historic Homes Tour 2003, what are you waiting for? Featuring two Queen Anne-styled homes and even more unique interiors, the tour should be in top form as it features five houses that are all new to the event.
Visitors will be treated to live music in the homes, vintage cars open for ogling, and holiday-themed dining tables decorated by local designers. Tickets are $20 for museum members and seniors, $22 for nonmembers, and are available at the Art Museum of Los Gatos (4 Tait Ave.) or the History Museum of Los Gatos (75 Church St.). For more information, call 408.395.7375. Proceeds will benefit the Museums of Los Gatos, a nonprofit organization.
Testarossa Vineyards is also opening its doors to visitors as Nov. 1 marks its 10th anniversary Fall Open House. From noon to 4 p.m. visitors can taste new releases of the winery's pinot noir, chardonnay, and syrah. For more information, visit http://www.testarossa.com.
