Panthers win

Kyle Miller hit on 7 of 12 passes for 79 yards and Will Sparks ran for 153 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Los Gatos Panthers to a 23-0 Pop Warner Football victory over the Santa Cruz Sharks.

Brandon Webster hauled in a 27-yard touchdown pass from Miller in the game.

The Los Gatos defense gave up just four first downs in the win. Leading the defensive effort were Jermel Ladd, A.J. Luft, Michael Combs, Miles Johansen, Roscoe Kundtz, Vince Carstens, Jake Boetcher and Sparks.

The Panthers finished the regular season with a 7-1 record and now advance to the playoffs.

Youth basketball

Registration is now being accepted for the Calvary Church Youth Basketball League for boys ages 10­16 and girls ages 6­14. League play runs Jan. 3 through March 6, and the registration fee is $95.

The Los Gatos­Saratoga Observation Nursery School will hold its first annual 5K Turkey Trot walk/run on Nov. 9 at Vasona Park.
