Theft—Nov. 5, 5 p.m. A caller on Ross Creek Court told police that someone had taken her ATM card from her purse and withdrawn money from a bank. The caller provided information about a possible suspect, which led police to arrest a man for theft, possession of stolen property and violation of his probation.
Identity Theft—Nov. 5, 4:48 p.m. A caller on Ferris Avenue said someone had attempted to apply for a home loan using the caller's identity.
Obscene or Harassing Calls—Nov. 5, 4:30 p.m. Someone on Loma Alta Avenue phoned police to report that their 10-year-old son was receiving inappropriate Instant Messenger messages online and that the son's classmate had experienced the same problem. A report was filed.
Unlawful Possession of Vehicle—Nov. 5, 1:54 p.m. Police received a call from someone on Blossom Hill Road that a woman had driven away in a 2003 black Hummer that was not hers. San Jose police recovered the vehicle and arrested the woman about three hours later.
Burglary—Nov. 5, 1:22 p.m. Two vehicles, including a 1997 Toyota RAV4, that were parked on Dardanelli Lane were stolen. The caller said the burglary occurred during the previous night or early in the morning.
Obscene or Harassing Calls—Nov. 4, 11:37 p.m. A caller on De Soto Drive had been receiving annoying calls, with no one on the line. Just prior to phoning police, a white Ford pulled up in front of the caller's home and turned off its lights. When the reporting party went outside to try and get the license plate number, the person in the car drove away.
Disturbance—Nov. 4, 3:25 p.m. An argument between two people began on N. Santa Cruz Avenue after one person's dog urinated on a mannequin. The dog owner left to get money to pay for the damages, but the caller was unsure whether the person would actually return.
Kidnapping—Nov. 3, 7:08 p.m. A child was kidnapped from her home on Lora Drive around 5:30 p.m. Once in Sunnyvale, the victim managed to escape and called police from a payphone at a supermarket. The child asked police to check on her grandmother, who was also home at the time of the kidnapping. Police put out a countywide bulletin to be on the lookout for the kidnapper.
Disturbance—Nov. 3, 6:57 p.m. A caller on Pinehurst Avenue said he received threatening remarks by a person on the other line when he called a pizza place in Campbell to see why his order had not yet been delivered. Police arrived at the scene and counseled the reporting party on how to handle the situation.
Missing Person—Nov. 3, 1:34 p.m. A 65-year-old man was reported missing by his brother on Leewood Court. The man was last seen leaving the home on Oct. 11 and has not been heard from. Police took a report.
