Karen Ward and Jason Kankel have announced their intention to wed June 12, 2004, at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Vin and Fran Ward of Long Island, N.Y. A graduate of Mercy High School and Adelphi University, she is an assistant casting director for NBC.

Her fiancé is the son of Gary and Susan Kankel of Los Gatos. A graduate of Los Gatos High School, California State University Chico, and Rutgers University, he is an instructor at Suffolk County Community College and a lighting designer.

The couple met nearly two years ago working on the same theater production. After a honeymoon in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple plans to reside in Rocky Point, Long Island.
