Tommy Cummings

Tommy S. Cummings died from heart complications on Oct. 9 in Chico, Calif. He was 64.

Born Dec. 16, 1938, in Dyess, Ark., Cummings grew up in Los Gatos, and graduated from Los Gatos High School. He coached basketball at Fisher Middle School for several years, and worked in the aerospace industry.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Cummings, of Paradise, Calif., daughter Camille Wilbon of San Jose, son Aaron Cummings of San Jose, and son Sean Cummings of San Jose. Services have been held.

Jacqueline Scarpitto

Jacqueline E. Scarpitto of Los Gatos died Oct. 17 at the Immanuel of Los Gatos Convalescent Home.

Born in Bayonne, France, Scarpitto was raised throughout France and England, moving to Massachusetts after marrying her husband, Michael Scarpitto. She and her husband moved to California eight years ago.

She is survived by daughters Carolyn Warmington of Saratoga, Renee Henning of Arlington, Va., and Michlyn Queenan of Chelmsford, Mass., son Michael Scarpitto Jr. of Reading, Mass., sister Huguette Dubucs of France, and eight grandchildren. Services have been held.

Kenneth Jones

Kenneth Philip Jones died Oct. 22. He was 60.

Born on March 12, 1943, in San Francisco, Jones moved to Los Gatos at an early age, attending Louise Van Meter Elementary, University Avenue Middle School, and Los Gatos High School.

After graduating from UC-Berkeley in 1966, Jones joined the Peace Corps and spent two years as a teacher in Sierra Leone. Once back in America, he became a math and science teacher and then counselor for the Oakland School District, where he worked for 34 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Hanen, and sister Kathy Varni, as well as several aunts, uncles, and nieces.

Services have been held. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, San Mateo Unit, or the Ken Jones Scholarship Fund at Montera Middle School in Oakland.

Patrick Brady

Los Gatos resident Patrick Brady died Oct. 26. He was 23.

Born in San Jose on May 22, 1980, Brady attended Bellarmine College Preparatory and Saratoga High School. He was a skilled football player, debater, golfer, and fisherman.

He is survived by mother Marilyn Brady, grandparents Tony and Aline Pelosi, brother Timothy Brady, sister Laura Brady, and brother Daniel Brady and his wife, Debra.

Services have been held. Donations in his memory may be made to The Carmelite Monastery, 1000 Lincoln St., Santa Clara, 95050, or The Aline and Tony Pelosi Scholarship Endowment Fund, Bellarmine College Preparatory, 850 Elm St., San Jose, 95126.
