Caitlin Averil Schechter and Jason Neil Cartwright were wed Oct. 4 by the Reverend Roger A. Barney at a private estate in Napa Valley.

The bride is the daughter of Jonathan and Susan Schechter of Los Gatos. A graduate of Los Gatos High School, Amherst College with degrees in French and English, and Syracuse University with a master's in broadcast journalism, she is the director of medical staff development for Conway Medical Center in Conway, S.C.

The groom is the son of Thomas and Diana Cartwright of Edmond, Okla. A graduate of Haven High School in Kansas, Arizona State University with a degree in exercise science, and the University of Nebraska with a master's in athletic administration, he works in marketing for Strand Regional Specialty Associates in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The couple first met three years ago, when the bride was a news reporter for the CBS affiliate in Myrtle Beach and coordinated an interview with one of the groom's colleagues.

After a honeymoon in Oahu and Maui, the couple will reside in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Hansen, Torre

Amy Hansen and Darren Torre were wed July 19 at Holbrook-Palmer Park in Atherton, Calif., with Los Gatos Deputy Clerk Marlyn Rasmussen officiating the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Eric and Alice Hansen of Los Gatos. A graduate of Los Gatos High School, Stanford University with degrees in psychology and Spanish, and the College of Notre Dame with a master's in counseling psychology, she is a co-owner of Silicon Valley Tutors in Atherton.

The groom is the son of Daniel and Sharon Torre of San Bruno, Calif. A graduate of Crystal Springs Uplands School, Occidental College with a degree in psychology, and the College of Notre Dame with a master's in counseling psychology, with a teaching credential from San Francisco State University, he is a co-owner of Silicon Valley Tutors and is a teacher with the Children's Heath Council in Palo Alto.
