LGHS teacher receives recognition

UC San Diego has recognized Los Gatos High School teacher Jeanne-Marie Rachlin through its annual Teacher Recognition Program. The program allows high school seniors who have accepted admission offers from UCSD to recommend a high school teacher who had a strong, positive academic influence on their lives. Rachlin was nominated by LGHS graduates Jennifer Jooyun Shin and Danielle McFall.

Los Gatos teen commended for his service

Andrew Richter, a former student parks commissioner, received a commendation from the town of Los Gatos after completing nearly two terms on the commission. During his tenure, which ended in September, the 17-year-old wrote descriptions of all the trails in the area.

Red Ribbon Week essay winners

The winners of the Community Against Substance Abuse 2003 Red Ribbon Week essay contest include Michael Bryant, first place, $50; Jeff Mohr, second place, $25; and Jessica Sansevere, third place, $15.

Los Gatos High library needs mousepads

In anticipation of the reopening of the library lab at Los Gatos High School for class research, the school's librarian Linda Roshon is looking for about 50 new or like-new mousepads. Companies or individuals able to donate mousepads should call the library at 408.354.2730 ext. 248.
