'Twas the night before Christmas, and all 'round the town,
a good shopping season was at last winding down.
The streets were decked out in their holiday best,
the Boulevard, Avenue, Main and the rest.
The lights at Vasona were glimmering bright,
and the Alan Aerts mansion was shining all night.
No one was arguing that musical jazz
of whether the concerts should stay in the Plazz.
No one was talking Sobrato or TIP,
nor were parking or fence heights getting
much lip.
News of solar panels and vehicle licensing fees,
Cellular towers, or golf canopies,
moratoriums on personal services stuff,
neighborhood meetings ... enough is enough!
Decker and Baxter had emptied their chairs,
so Glickman and Garner could become the new mayors.
The schools weren't worrying about problems
past,
thanks to LGEF and the New Millennium cast.
The Lyndon Bandstand, a successful Town Follies,
Reunion Weekend, this town's had its jollies.
But the time has come to wrap up this year,
with some special Weekly-Times holiday cheer.
From Mandy and Sara, who write most of the features,
and Lisa, who covers the schools and the teachers.
From Nisha and My, who write up the news,
and George, with his photos we know we can't lose.
From Amy, the friendly voice on the phone,
and DeCinzo, whose cartoons cut to the bone.
From Mary Ann, we can count on to shoot the breeze,
and Tony, we keep his head in the trees.
Sue has good taste when she writes about food,
and Jean lets us know of the real estate mood.
With Claire, Nancy, Judy all selling the ads,
and Cindy's sharp eye catching all of our bads.
From Tiffani, Nate and the production crew,
from Lisa, Jeannette, and Desiree, too.
From Dale, she makes sure that we all do
our best,
keeping watch from her special editor's nest.
And David, he's the guy who keeps it all going,
helping us all to keep the words flowing.
And from me too, this town is truly a treasure,
bringing you news is really our pleasure.
So to all of you there, from all of us here,
A very Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
