Novice chefs looking for something new to add to their repertoire can head to the Persian cooking class through the Los Gatos­Saratoga Community Education and Recreation Department. The class will be held on Jan. 15 and 22 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $69 and includes all materials. For more information or to register, call 408.354.8700.

Los Gatos artists

Los Gatans looking to break into the film business now have their opportunity. The annual film showcase CineCats is seeking submissions for its March 25 filmfest at the Los Gatos Cinema. Films in VHS format are due on Feb. 2, 2004, at 5 p.m. The contest is open to anyone attending school or living in Los Gatos, anyone who has attended a Los Gatos school or anyone who is enrolled in an art, drama or film class with the Los Gatos­Saratoga Recreation Department. All submissions must be 25 minutes or shorter, including credits. The entry fee is $15. Art Museum
setting up
new exhibit

The Art Museum of Los Gatos will soon be setting up its newest exhibit for the annual "Touch my heART" event. The exhibit will be open Jan. 22 through Feb. 14, featuring original paintings donated to the museum from local artists. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on their favorites, as the art goes up for auction on Feb. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m.
