Alapont covered the 5.0­mile course from the high school track to Lexington Dam and back again in 26:23 to finish first overall. Jon Kimura was just 18 seconds back, finishing a close second in 26:41, and Michael Clem was hot on their heels in third at 26:53.

Rounding out the top 10 were Jim Angelopoulas, Matthew Eckert, Mike Clayville, David Krauth , Michael Gilbert, Jason Gaven and Eugene Cordero .

Plank raced to a win in the women's division, finishing 14th overall in 32:12. Michelle Unger was second in 34:02 with Carol Wilson third, Genevieve Cleveland fourth and Sabrina Iles fifth .

Top two finishers in each age group winners were Eckert and Krauth (under 18 boys), Plank and Cristina Masurat (under 18 girls), Alapont and Kimura (18­29 men), Cordero and Bert Rangel (30­39 men), Unger and Iles (30­39 women), Clem and Angelopoulas (40­49 men), Wilson and Cleveland (40­49 women), Greg Burke and Doug Brown (50­59 men), Rika Ream and Cathy Smith (50­59 women), Jerry Connolly and Norm Matteoni (over 60 men) and Barbara Pearce (over 60 women).
