Art exhibit
on display
in chambers

Media artist and painter Katrin Straub is the latest artist to be featured in the Los Gatos Town Council Chambers. Inspired by Eastern languages and calligraphy while living in Asia, Straub has taken her interest in the written word and used it to create mixed media.

The exhibit will be up until Feb. 27. The chambers are located at 110 E. Main St.

Feasting on
cold, cracked
crab for a cause

In step with the festivity of crab season, the Italian Catholic Federation is hosting a crab-feed dinner and dance on Jan. 24 at St. Mary's Howley Hall at 6 p.m.

Nearly 300 guests are anticipated for the fundraiser, which will benefit Special Olympics, Hospice, and the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, among other organizations. Tickets are $28 for adults and $12 for children 12 years old and under.

The church is located at 219 Bean Ave. in Los Gatos. For reservations call Don Arnaudo at 408.354.4017. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Union School

Tickets are on sale for the Union Middle School's presentation of Once Upon a Mattress.

Shows run Feb. 5 through Feb. 8, with performances at 7 p.m. on Feb. 5, 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 6 and 7, 2 p.m. on Feb. 7, and 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Feb. 8. Tickets are $8 for reserved seating and $6 for bleacher seating, and are available at the school's front office every Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. For more information call Jandy Jones at 408.371.8545.
