Piano soloist
will perform
for evensong

Pianist Natalya Duvanenko is the featured guest for St. Luke's Episcopal Church evensong concert on Feb. 1. After an evening prayer is presented by song, Duvanenko will perform a 40-minute concert including works by Bach, Mozart and Robert Schumann.

The service will begin at 4 p.m. at St. Luke's, 20 University Ave. A goodwill donation will be accepted at the door.

Personal coach will speak at business meeting

The American Women's Business Association is hosting its monthly meeting at the Toll House Hotel on Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. In addition to dinner, the meeting will feature personal coach Dr. Francine Toder, presenting "Aggression Management: How to De-escalate Volatile Situations." Two magical musicals on school stages

Local elementary schools are getting busy for theater season, with Van Meter presenting Stories of Scheherazade and Daves Avenue hosting The Wizard of Oz.

Van Meter showtimes are 7 p.m. on Jan. 30 and 31 and 2 p.m. on Feb. 1. Reserved seating is $6, available at the door or by calling Kim Couchee at 408.354.3408.

The Daves Avenue performances will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 5, 6 and 7 and at 2 p.m. on Feb. 8. Tickets are $8 at the door or in advance at the school Jan. 26­30 and Feb. 2­5 from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. For more information, call Anne Hayes at 408.354.8785.
