win Optimist
awards
Optimist International celebrated Youth Appreciation Week by honoring local students who have made significant contributions to their schools and communities. The students receiving awards were Kathleen Wark and Kyle Ozawa of Los Gatos High School, and Christina Forst and Kevin Oniski of Rolling Hills Middle School.
Mountain Art Guild grants benefit schools
The Mountain Art Guild has approved two grant proposals submitted by Sharon Dahnert, the arts coordinator for the Loma Prieta Joint Union Elementary School District. A grant of $1,500 will be used by Loma Prieta Elementary School to fund the salary of an arts specialist.
A second grant of $1,500 will be divided between two projects for C.T. English Middle School: the purchase of two digital cameras and software for a virtual gallery and the purchase of materials for a beginning ceramics unit.

hosts crab feed,
silent auction
Rolling Hills Middle School boys and girls volleyball teams will hold their first annual crab feed and silent auction with musical entertainment Jan. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Campbell Community Center, One West Campbell Ave. Proceeds from the event will benefit the volleyball teams.
