Casino Night will benefit the Langstaffs

Pacific Crest Explorers will sponsor a night of karaoke and casino games in honor of Kaitlyn Langstaff, who died in December. The event will be held on March 5 at the Elks Lodge,105 Newell Ave. in Los Gatos. To reserve a spot, send a check for $50 to Pacific Crest Explorers at 18300 Swarthmore Drive, Saratoga, 95070. Rotary to host Adelus as guest speaker

Sally Adelus, executive director of Hospice of the Valley, will discuss pain-management issues and hospice care at the next Los Gatos AM Rotary Club meeting on Feb. 18. The club will meet at 8 a.m. at the Los Gatos Lodge.

Playwrights to present their original works

Students from the Foothill Theater Conservatory will present four original plays at the Los Gatos Town Council chambers on Feb. 27. Doors will open at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Los Gatos Libraries.

Admission is free.

Association seeks support from merchants

The Muscular Dystrophy Association will be holding a lock-in at the Los Gatos Brewing Company on Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local business owners will undergo a mock arrest and be responsible for raising bail money. All money raised will go towards funding patient-service programs.
