Under 12 tryouts

Tryouts for a boys under-12 Class 3 team from the Los Gatos United Soccer League will be held Feb. 23, 3:30­5:30 p.m., Feb. 27, 3:30­5 p.m. and Feb. 28, 2­4 p.m., at Fisher Middle School. Boys born after July 31, 1992, are eligible. For more information, call John Fumia at 408.395.2141.

LGLL workshop

The Los Gatos Little League, in partnership with the Positive Coaching Alliance, will host its annual workshop for all managers and coaches on Feb. 23, 6 p.m., at the Los Gatos Neighborhood Center, 208 E. Main St. The workshop is for all managers and coaches in the T-ball through major divisions.

The alliance is a Stanford-based nonprofit organization that stresses how "youth athletics presents a tremendous opportunity for athletes to develop life skills that will serve them well beyond the playing field," according to Mark Carlquist of the LGLL.

Volleyball night

The Los Gatos High School boys volleyball team will hold a kickoff event and fundraiser on Feb. 27, 5­8 p.m., at Campo di Bocce on University Avenue. Supporters will be presented a Los Gatos volleyball T-shirt for a donation of $20, a polo shirt and two home game tickets for $30 and a sweatshirt and four home game tickets for $50.
