Ellen and Michael Brown of Los Gatos announced the engagement of their daughter, Krista Helene Brown, to Gregory Richard Velasquez, both Mountain View residents.

The bride-to-be graduated from Los Gatos High School, received a degree in early childhood education from Oregon State University and is a kindergarten teacher at St. Joseph Catholic School in Mountain View.

Her fiance, son of Sunnyvale residents Richard and Maureen Velasquez, graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School and received a degree in economics from University of California, San Diego. He currently works at Wachavia Securities.

The couple met five years ago. They are planning to have their garden wedding ceremony on July 24.
