LGHS students
make state
honor band
The California Band Directors Association recently accepted three Los Gatos High School students as part of the All-State Honor Band. The awardees included Zaynah Hindi, a senior who plays clarinet, Michael Loomer, a senior who plays trumpet, and Kristen Swanson, a junior who plays clarinet.
LGHS music director James Francisco said making the honor band is one of the highest individual honors a student can receive.
The three students were chosen from a pool of nearly 1,000 applicants representing high schools throughout the state. The students auditioned in December, and the band performed in a formal concert Feb. 22 at the Saroyan Theater in Fresno.
