Diane Easter Gonzales

Diane Easter Gonzales died peacefully in her Los Gatos home on March 9. She was 75.

Also known as "Dede," Gonzales was born in 1928 in Berkeley, where she oftentimes dressed up to go on ferry rides to San Francisco.

She married George Easter, a radiologist in Los Gatos, in 1950. A few years after her first husband's death, Gonzales married Eugene Gonzales. The two were married for 17 years.

An active community member, Gonzales was involved with numerous charitable organizations and was a caregiver to various families. She was a voracious reader, an enthusiastic bridge player and a traveler. She enjoyed working on the New York Times crossword puzzles, attended art history classes and named each Thanksgiving Day turkey after her least-favorite politician of the year.

Gonzales is survived by her second husband, Eugene Gonzales; her daughter, Pam Easter and her husband, Kenny Knorzer; her son, Dan Easter, and his wife, Kim; her daughter, Jen Easter, and her partner, Laurie Drinkwater; two stepdaughters; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on March 20 at the Los Gatos Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, Gonzales requested that donations be made to the Bay Area Breast Cancer Network, 4320 Stevens Creek Blvd., Suite 185, San Jose, CA 95129.
